Jacques Deweerdt, the architect with multiple houses in the district, signed this one in 1904. He was inspired by the Brussels architects Victor Horta and especially Victor Taelemans.
When applying for a building permit, his project was almost refused due to plagiarism, the top of the house is a copy of the house located at avenue Michel Ange, 80 in Brussels, with its largely overflowing cornice, its tiled fresco , and its three identical windows. The fresco depicts storks in the rising sun.
The striking element of this facade is the balcony and the window, on the first floor, in a basket handle resting on two small columns.
An imposing balcony, in stone and ironwork, rests on a white stone console. The carved stones evoke the whiplash specific to Art Nouveau.
The set is in very good condition. The house was listed in July 1984.
