Large series of twelve classic-eclectic style houses with Art Nouveau elements, built in 1911, by Brussels entrepreneur Ernest Wauters.
They all respect the same elevation made of two bays and two floors. Only the facade bricks differ from one to the other, as well as the arrangement of the decorative lintels above the second floor windows.
This is where the artistic interest of the series lies, the ceramic decorations made by the Maison Helman in Berchem Ste Agathe, then very renowned and very active in the production of decorative tiles.
They present eight different decorations in Louis XVI and Renaissance styles. Human figures, vases of flowers, or flowers garlands.
The two houses which begin and end the series have a Louis XVI style lady's decoration, who by their gaze determine the beginning and end of the row of houses.
Most of the houses have been preserved according to the original design, some have been modified, garage doors, or woodwork replaced, but the whole remains impressive.
The whole has been a protected monument since 2014.
