Architect August Waterschoot designed this vast house in 1906 for the pharmacist Fr. Tuypens, who in 1928 moved his pharmacy to the very Art Deco corner building.
The facade does not really have Art Nouveau characteristics, it is even a very classic building. It is the multiple earthenware ornaments that assimilates it to Art Nouveau.
These beautiful earthenware adorn the entire facade, floral motifs, wisteria, fruit trees, roses, and women busts, the ground floor is decorated with a long frieze of water lilies.
Above the right door, we discover the initials of the owners FTVR, François Tuypens and his wife (Caroline) Van Reusel.
