Architect Jules Hofman, built this house in 1904, for the president of the Chamber of Rhetoric "De Violieren", literary section of the St Luke’s guild.
There are violets in several places on the facade. They adorn the top of it, and are found below the name of the house, on the wrought iron balustrades and carved on the stone base of the bow window.
The particularity of this facade lies in this imposing bow window, supported by a semi-circular arched awning which surmounts the entrance door and the window on the ground floor.
The door, rather small, is surmounted by a small carved stone canopy.
House listed in 1984.
