Born in Schaerbeek on October 9, 1861 and died in the same town on October 4, 1936. Privat-Livemont took drawing lessons at the Academy of St Josse-ten-Noode, where he met Paul Saintenoy (Old England), Léon Govaerts and Adolphe Crespin.
Very gifted, Privat-Livemont obtained a scholarship that allowed him to study for six years in Paris, where he decorated prominent public places.
Returning to Brussels in 1891, the Art Nouveau style was then at its height, Henri Privat-Livemont devoted himself entirely to his art, creating posters, interior decorations, sgraffiti and stained glass cartoons.
He will retire in 1935, his graphic style, having no longer evolved, was no longer in tune with the times.
